- Introduction
BIO 113 BRIEF OVERVIEW - for a more extensive course description click here.

1. One of the most important things to do in this class. Read the "This week" page every single week - It describes all assignments and due dates. The second most important thing is to carefully read, every word on the website. Courses with Online material require careful reading of instructions and materials for the course. Thirdly, turn material in on tine, no kidding. If its late, no credit. Each online assignment will provide a receipt stating when and what you have turned in. Save (on a disk) or print, then save your receipts. You will never have a problem receiving credit for an assignment if you save your receipts. If you have a problem, email Dr. Wyatt.

2. Keep up with the material in this class. - Some students believe that OnLine Class means " don't have to do anything class". This is a surefire plan for Failure. I will give you a rough indicator of where you should be in your readings by adding a "red dot" to each topic as it is covered. (see the image to the left.)

3. Audio lectures - If you like to listen to Professors lecture, I have recorded several live lectures and they are available using the Real Player plug-in. Click on the red dot (again, see on the left) to hear the lectures.

4. Animations - There are several animations, videos, and sound recordings in this web site. Many of them are marked by a "red star". Click on the red star to access the material.

5. Material - In this course we focus on aspects of Biology that are important to our everyday lives. We will examine scientific literature, the news, and scientific data. We will discuss how what we find affects our daily lives. The course is divided into Five sections, each section is followed by an Exam covering the material from that section.
