Introduction to Recombinant Genetics- Biology 350

Assignment

The p53 gene is a tumor suppressor gene, i.e., when p53 is non-functional, oncogenic expressions increase. What information would you like to know about the p53 gene? List as many as possible.

Here is the 2005 Class responses.

Gene Function

Bioinformatics

-Match gene sequence with those with a known function

-Match segments or domains to subfunctions (e.g., NTP binding site)
