Effector enzymes Coupled to GTP Binding Proteins

Adenylate Cyclase

There are a number of adenylate cyclases that share 40-60% identity and all function to form cAMP from ATP.

Early assays of adenylate cyclase ceased to work as more highly purified ATP was used. This led to the link to G-protein activation.
