Phosphoinositide 3-kinases

Phosphoinisotides phosphorylated in the 3 position are not substrates of phospholipase C.

Protein Kinase B

Insulin: the role of IRS, PI 3-kinase and PKB in the refulation of glycogen synthesis

Regulation of translation by PI 3-kinase

The p70 S6 kinase can also be directly phosphorylated in the catalytic site by PDK1. For full activity it also needs to be phosphorylated in the C-terminal domain.
Convergent signaling pathways

PDK1 is constitutively active but depends on PI3P to bind to membrane.
PDK1 phosphorylates several members of the AGC protein kinase family (PKB, p70 S6 kinase, PKCs alpha, beta1, beta2, delta, gamma and zeta) in their catatalytic loop.
PKB activation then depends on the presence of three converging signals.
