Grading: Each examination will count 1/4 and an average of these grades will be used to compute your final grade. The examination will consist of a combination of acceptable or unacceptable, matching, fill-in-the blank, multiple choice, and discussion. Make-up examinations will require a doctor's excuse. Daily class participation and attendance are reflected in the grade. The following scale will be used:

Special Assignments: There will be no special presentations or term papers for this course. Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to provide the student with a foundation in basic bacteriology. It is a course that covers the morphological, cultural, classification, environmental, genetics and biochemical characteristics of important groups of microorganisms with emphasis on bacteria. This course is designed to fulfill 3 h credit, which is required for Medical Technology majors in the Department of Biology. This course for majors can be selected from one of the following five courses: 309-310, 315, 327, 430, 446.
