Chiquita Banana Plantation Tour

Chiquita owns and operates three banana farms near La Selva. The manager, Dorn Wenninger, gave us a tour so that we could learn how Chiquita produces bananas.

Banana bunches are cut and hung from hooks on a monorail system.....

... then pushed to the packing building...

... where they are washed, sorted, labeled, ...
