Xavier Basseda: Isolation of the cell wall-degrading enzyme autolysin and transformation of Chlamydomonas with a ß-tubulin promoter/arylsulfatase reporter gene fusion.

Scott Myers: Identifying the minimal lethal dose of the antibiotic zeocin for Chlamydomonas and isolating resistant strains through transformation with a zeocin resistance gene.

Matt Boling: Propagation of plasmids for use as probes in northern and southern analyses.

Frank Valenzuela: Cloning of plasmids with deletions in the CABII-1 promoter.
